Chance-Constrained OPF in Droop-Controlled Microgrids With Power Flow Routers

چکیده

High penetration of renewable generation poses challenges to power system operation due its uncertain nature. In droop-controlled microgrids, the voltage volatility induced by uncertainties is aggravated high droop gains. This paper proposes a chance-constrained optimal flow (CC-OPF) problem with routers (PFRs) better regulate profile in microgrids. PFR refers general type network-side controller that brings more flexibility network. Comparing normal CC-OPF relies on node only, proposed model introduces new dimension control from network enhance performance under uncertainties. Adopting partial linearization method and an iterative algorithm allows us address iteratively solving subproblem. Since inclusion PFRs complicates subproblem makes common solvers no longer applicable directly, semidefinite programming relaxation used transform each into convex form. The verified modified IEEE 33-bus results show significantly reduce standard deviations magnitudes contribute mitigating volatility, which operate economic secure way.

Voltage Security in AC Microgrids: A Power Flow-Based Approach Considering Droop-Controlled Inverters

This paper deals with the problem of voltage security in microgrids. In general, voltage security is an issue for power systems, where the lack of reactive power is a concern. For microgrids a complexity is imposed, since frequency and voltage level deviations may take place by the operation of droop-controlled inverters. This paper incorporates the load margin calculation into a microgrid stru...

Voltage Stability of Droop - Controlled Microgrids * ( Extended

As the deployment of distributed generation continues, an increasing number of DC/AC power inverters will be interfaced into the electric grid. Groupings of these power inverters, along with distributed storage and load, are referred to as microgrids. Microgrids offer the potential for unprecedented reliability and flexibility, but also pose new control challenges. Inverters in microgrids must ...

Economic Droop Scheme for Decentralized Power Management in DC Microgrids

This paper proposes an autonomous and economic droop control scheme for DC microgrid application. In this method, a cost-effective power sharing technique among various types of DG units is properly adopted. The droop settings are determined based on an algorithm to individually manage the power management without any complicated optimization methods commonly applied in the centralized control ...

The Price of Uncertainty: Chance-constrained OPF vs. In-hindsight OPF

The operation of power systems has become more challenging due to feed-in of volatile renewable energy sources. Chance-constrained optimal power flow (ccOPF) is one possibility to explicitly consider volatility via probabilistic uncertainties resulting in mean-optimal feedback policies. These policies are computed before knowledge of the realization of the uncertainty is available. On the other...

Synchronization and power sharing for droop-controlled inverters in islanded microgrids

Motivated by the recent and growing interest in smart grid technology, we study the operation of DC/AC inverters in an inductive microgrid. We show that a network of loads and DC/AC inverters equipped with power-frequency droop controllers can be cast as a Kuramoto model of phase-coupled oscillators. This novel description, together with results from the theory of coupled oscillators, allows us...
